Cardiac screening prior to renal transplantation—good intentions, rather than good evidence, dictate practice

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in kidney transplant recipients many registries. An analysis from United Kingdom using propensity score matching (PSM) suggests there are limited or no benefits to cardiovascular screening before listing. We suggest that short a randomized controlled trial (RCT) this area, these data sufficient centers should reflect on their current protocols for workup required transplantation.
